And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valour. Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them. And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.

Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite. And the house of Joseph, they also went up against Bethel: and the LORD was with them. And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done. And she said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he brake the withs, as a thread of tow is broken when it toucheth the fire. So his strength was not known. So that all which fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these were men of valour.

Thus the children of Ammon were subdued before the children of Israel. And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son. And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn into his house.
