And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem. And her lord rose up in the morning, and opened the doors of the house, and went out to go his way: and, behold, the woman his concubine was fallen down at the door of the house, and her hands were upon the threshold. And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands. Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and took it. And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together. Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.
