Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar. And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees? Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come thou, and reign over us. And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die. And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the children of Ammon. And he judged Israel twenty and three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.
