And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech. And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead. And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour? And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? Now there were men lying in wait, abiding with her in the chamber. And he said unto them, Follow after me: for the LORD hath delivered your enemies the Moabites into your hand. Thus was Midian subdued before the children of Israel, so that they lifted up their heads no more. And the country was in quietness forty years in the days of Gideon.
