Neither did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer; but the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them. So all the men of Israel were gathered against the city, knit together as one man. And the people repented them for Benjamin, because that the LORD had made a breach in the tribes of Israel. And the children of Israel remembered not the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hands of all their enemies on every side: Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely, Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.
Then three thousand men of Judah went to the top of the rock Etam, and said to Samson, Knowest thou not that the Philistines are rulers over us? what is this that thou hast done unto us? And he said unto them, As they did unto me, so have I done unto them. And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the LORD. And the priest said unto them, Go in peace: before the LORD is your way wherein ye go.
