And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword. Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss. And the LORD said unto him, Surely I will be with thee, and thou shalt smite the Midianites as one man. And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem. And he smote them hip and thigh with a great slaughter: and he went down and dwelt in the top of the rock Etam.
And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land. And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel. And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man. And that year they vexed and oppressed the children of Israel: eighteen years, all the children of Israel that were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead. And Samson said concerning them, Now shall I be more blameless than the Philistines, though I do them a displeasure. And Ehud put forth his left hand, and took the dagger from his right thigh, and thrust it into his belly: And the haft also went in after the blade; and the fat closed upon the blade, so that he could not draw the dagger out of his belly; and the dirt came out. And they went up, and pitched in Kirjathjearim, in Judah: wherefore they called that place Mahanehdan unto this day: behold, it is behind Kirjathjearim.
